A Foam Memory Mattress Review Can Help Your Decision
Memory foam has been around since the 1970's and was developed for NASA. Memory foam wasn't really used for a mattress until the early '90's and even then no one really knew about it because there wasn't enough information on it to give a decent foam memory mattress review.
A Small History
Tempur-Pedic was the company that realized the potential for memory foam as something beyond a NASA experimental project. They took the unrealized idea that NASA started with and developed their own brand of memory foam called Tempur. Their version was much more reliable than the original version of the foam.
Originally, Tempur was still meant for the medical field but soon they started hearing about people who slept on the foam got a much better sleep than when they slept on a conventional spring mattress. Tempur-Pedic did a foam memory mattress review study and found that the foam had reduced back pain and generally provided a better rest than conventional mattresses out of the regular materials.
Again realizing the potential for this new type of bed, the memory foam mattress was born. Soon other mattress makers were looking into memory foam and putting out their own foam memory mattress review studies.
All Foams are not Created Equal.
The competition has grown fierce over the past few years to come up with inexpensive but good quality memory foam and during this competition companies have come out with various types of memory foam.
What you need to look for when purchasing memory foam is the density of the foam. Usually when buying a bed topping at a retail store, the density is low quality: in other words, it won't maintain its shape for a very long time.
A four pound density is good quality foam. Tempur foam is somewhere around a 5.3 which is excellent but generally comes with a higher price to the consumer than the lower density foams.
Another thing you need to look out for is the type of foam you are purchasing; there are some suppliers out there that are using inexpensive fillers to save money rather than the expensive filler that is supposed to be used to make true memory foam.
Of course you want to consider how long the foam will last because memory foam will feel great in the beginning but like everything, eventually it will break down and "forget". Read a foam memory mattress review today and investigate the details of your newest investment in sleep comfort.
The last thing to look for when purchasing a memory foam bed from a manufacturer is to make sure they have a good warranty and return policy.
